A young Andrea Della Valle studies New York businesswomen as they run to their offices in a suit and comfy trainers, before secretly swapping them for a pair of high heels under their desks. Why not create footwear that can be worn all day long? A new vision: the first Luxury Sneaker is born!

Did you know that at the core of Hogan lies a fascinating archive of research into thousands of shoes and prototypes, collected since the brand's beginnings in 1986? This "footwear library" has been a source of creative and formative inspiration for generations of designers.

It may seem like it's "just a sneaker", however it is the result of passion and ideas from at least 8 people. Weeks of daily revisions from the stylist's creative genius and the modeller's own experience, days of hard work by our Sneaker Specialists and hours of quality control are all needed to create The Hogan Sneaker.

What could be better than new fabrics or leathers to adorn the Collection? Passing the test isn't a simple task though. New materials are cut to an entire shoe size in order to be tested by the Walkmeter, a machine that simulates walking at approximately 50,000 steps (equal to 5 consecutive days, or 30km), along with first-hand tests carried out by our employees: each volunteer must be someone who is constantly on the move for at least two weeks.
